The Utzon Foundation has begun a collaboration with the Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Architecture concerning the allocation of grants for residential stays at Can Lis.
A residential stay is a working visit, giving the opportunity to immerse oneself in a project under unique and inspiring conditions. It is a requirement that the project's subject matter relates to architectural expression.
The Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Architecture has laid down specific criteria to be prioritized in the round of applications. The Committee is responsible for the professional evaluation of applicants and allocates residencies of between one and three months. When awarding the first residence programmes, the Committee prioritised projects inspired by Jørn Utzon's ideas and way of thinking.
The Committee for Architecture are acting managers for Can Lis for nine months of the year.
The first residency programme began on 1 April 2012.
